DCP – Digital Cinema Package – is the format in which films must be delivered to cinemas today. This format is necessary so that the films can be played from the cinema's in-house servers. The goal of this workshop was to understand DCP as a format in order to achieve the best possible result for one’s own project. How do I correctly prepare image and sound for cinema use? What are my options regarding subtitles? What vocabulary is useful when communicating with external experts or technicians? What should I pay attention to when testing in a cinema? What happens to my DCP at a festival? And: What are common mistakes that can be avoided? There was also plenty of space to address the individual questions of the workshop participants.

The workshop will be held in German. You will need to bring your own laptop and a video for the practical part of the workshop.

Many thanks to Medienwerkstatt Wien for generously making its premises available. The technical equipment was financed by an infrastructure grant from the City of Vienna.
