As a counterpart to a closed narrative logic, the dramaturgy of the open form requires a clear stance toward oneself and the world. It represents a different mode of storytelling, one that is episodic and oriented around themes. To what extent can stereotypes of the closed form be avoided through process-oriented working methods and collaborative modes of production? And how can one succeed in telling stories cinematically starting from places, thereby creating different associations of ideas and layers of meaning?
Golden Pixel Talks invite artists and theorists whose research fields overlap to engage in a dialogue. The artistic positions of The Golden Pixel Cooperative are expanded to include academic and sociopolitical perspectives. This creates a discursive space for a "search movement on the border between knowledge and non-knowledge" (Rheinberger 2012), as it unites research in science and art.
